Testify before House Committee on Land & Resource Management May 9 in Houston

The Texas House Committee on Land & Resource Management will meet at Texas Southern University’s School of Education Auditorium in Houston on May 9 to hear invited and public testimony regarding the following interim charge: Examine Texas’ eminent domain statutes to ensure a balance between necessary infrastructure growth and fair compensation for landowners; Review available public information and data relating to the compensation provided to private property owners; and make recommendations to improve the accountability, as well as successful development, of the entities granted eminent domain authority.
We are urging association members, ranchers and landowners interested in making their voices heard to attend the hearing and/or testify on private property rights and eminent domain. Additional information is below.
For more information and to coordinate with TSCRA staff attending the hearing, please call 512-469-0171.
