U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer swore Jeffrey Gerrish into office on March 20 as Deputy United States Trade Representative for Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Industrial Competitiveness. Gerrish was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 5, 2018. He joins newly-sworn in Ambassadors Dennis Shea, Gregg Doud and C.J. Mahoney to round out the Senate-confirmed leadership at USTR.
Gerrish has also worked extensively with American companies in negotiations relating to international trade agreements, including negotiations at the World Trade Organization and for various bilateral free trade agreements. In addition, he has assisted companies in developing strategies to open or maintain international markets for exports of their products and services through the use of international trade agreements.
Gerrish earned his law degree from Duke University School of Law and a bachelor of arts from the State University of New York at Albany.
