TSCRA officers and leaders were in Washington, D.C., this week for the 2016 National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Legislative Conference. TSCRA arrived Tuesday on Capitol Hill and on Wednesday had a full day of meetings with many U.S. senators and representatives, where multiple issues important to the cattle industry were discussed. TSCRA stressed the importance of trade and the need to cut government regulations that are harmful to ranchers.
The group ended their trip on Thursday afternoon by meeting with several federal agencies. They discussed animal health issues with USDA-APHIS, private property rights with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), livestock disaster assistance programs with USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) and more.
TSCRA will continue working with leaders in Washington in order to protect cattlemen and women who provide food for millions of people worldwide.
