The Humane Society of North Texas not affiliated with Humane Society of the U.S.

We recently reported on the Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) requesting donations to assist feeding a large number of cattle that had come under their care. There seems to be some confusion whether HSNT is affiliated with the Humane Society of the U.S. (HSUS). It is not.
HSNT is an independent, local non-profit organization that provides shelter and care for all species of animals, including pets, companion animals, and livestock. Aside from occasional grants from national organizations such as the ASPCA, HSNT receives no funding from national non-profit groups and relies only on donations of support in the North Texas community. They do not receive funds or help from HSUS. HSNT provides adoption services, low-cost spay, neuter and vaccination, as well as investigation of reports of abuse or neglect. Click here to visit their site or go to hsnt.org for more information.
