Cattle Raisers, friends and family gathered in far West Texas for two days of meetings, fellowship and fun in Marfa. Friday’s sessions included topics on sustainability, animal health, transportation and hours of service rules, and eminent domain. State Rep. Mary Gonzalez, vice chair of the Texas House Agriculture and Livestock Committee, also talked about issues the committee will consider in the upcoming legislative session. To top off a day of business, attendees enjoyed an evening dinner at the Hotel Saint George in historic downtown Marfa.
Saturday’s meetings will feature committee meetings on law enforcement, agricultural research and property rights. U.S. Rep. Will Hurd is the featured guest speaker during the board of directors session, closing the summer meeting with an inside look at national politics.
TSCRA’s next meeting will be the Policy Conference Sept. 19-21, 2018, at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
