The workshop included a Q&A panel with speakers, left to right, Dr. Michael Murphy, U.S. Food and Drug Administration; Dr. Kathe Bjork, USDA-APHIS; Dr. Thomas Portillo, Friona Industries; Shelby Horn, Great Plains Cattle Feeders; Brice Tabor, Hi-Pro Feeds; and meeting facilitator Kevin Ochsner, Adayana Agribusines Group.

TSCRA participated in a workshop on the stewardship of antimicrobial use in Amarillo Sept. 11.

Topics included information sessions and presentations on the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) from different perspectives within the agricultural production chain.

Friday’s workshop is one of many planned across the country and organized by the Farm Foundation to bring together industry stakeholders to discuss the VFD rules and identify key issues.
