TSCRA News Release: TSCRA to Host Summer Meeting June 16-18 in Montgomery

Fort Worth, Texas – Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) is hosting its annual TSCRA Summer Meeting June 16-18 at La Torretta Resort and Spa in Montgomery, Texas. The meeting will serve as an opportunity for cattle raisers to receive updates on recent TSCRA activities and discuss issues important to ranchers and landowners.
State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, Brenham, will be the keynote speaker at Friday’s luncheon where she will provide attendees with a preview of the upcoming Texas legislative session, which convenes January 2017.
TSCRA policy committees will also meet to conduct business and prepare for the legislative session. Committee members will use these meetings as an opportunity to review TSCRA’s policy and receive updates on a variety of topics such as: private property rights, property taxes, natural resources, cattle marketing, animal health, agricultural research and transportation.

TSCRA is a 139-year-old trade association and is the largest and oldest livestock organization based in Texas. TSCRA has more than 17,000 beef cattle operations, ranching families and businesses as members. These members represent approximately 50,000 individuals directly involved in ranching and beef production who manage 4 million head of cattle on 76 million acres of range and pasture land primarily in Texas and Oklahoma, but throughout the Southwest.
