TSCRA Crime Watch: Heifer shot in East TX, Cattle stolen in North TX and NE OK

TSCRA Special Ranger Larry Hand, Dist. 13 in East Texas, reports the shooting of an Angus cross heifer weighing approximately 500 pounds some time between March 13 and 14 southeast of Marshall in Harrison County. 57 head of similar cattle were also set estray. TSCRA Special Ranger Troy McKinney, Dist. 11 in North Texas, reports the theft of 3 head of cattle from a property near Whitesboro in Grayson County. Stolen was a black baldy cow with a 4-week-old bull calf and a black baldy steer calf weighing 300 to 400 pounds. The cow and the steer calf have a flying U brand on the left hip. TSCRA Special Ranger John Cummings, Dist. 5 in northeast Oklahoma, reports the theft of 3 black cows from a property in Craig County. Some time between March 12 and 14 a thief or thieves used onsite pens to trap and load: a black cow weighing approximately 1200 pounds; a black cow with horns weighing approximately 1100 pounds; and a wild-tempered black cow weighing approximately 1200 pounds. All the cows had a W bar brand on the right hip and a backward 7 notch in the left ear. If you have any information on this case, please call Special Ranger Cummings at 918-342-0888.
