Texas Weekly Recap, 7-22-19

Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady to $2 higher; some instances $7 higher earlier in the week coming off last week’s highs. Trade was fairly active on good demand. The area is hot and dry with temps reaching the triple digits. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady. Most hay classes sold steady; Alfalfa sold steady to instances $5 higher, depending on quality. In the Texas High Plains grain markets the bulk of bids compared to Thursday were mostly 9 to 12 cents higher on grain sorghum; 6 to 8 cents higher on wheat; and 6 cents higher on corn.
