The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) held a regularly scheduled Commission meeting on Dec. 11, 2018, at its headquarters in Austin. The following amendments were proposed during the meeting and are open for public comment:
Chapter 51, Entry Requirements – Exotic Cervids
TAHC requires exotic cervids entering Texas to be brucellosis tested. The proposed rule will eliminate the brucellosis testing requirement for captive exotic cervids entering Texas. Test requirements for free ranging cervids and those from a designated surveillance area will remain in place.
The commission opened the following rules for review and comment:
Chapter 38, Trichomoniasis; Chapter 43, Tuberculosis; Chapter 47, Authorized Personnel; Chapter 50, Animal Disease Traceability; Chapter 51, Entry Requirements
The proposed chapters for rule review provides the public an opportunity to comment and suggest amendments on TAHC’s rules as they currently exist.
