FAQS

A political action committee gives like-minded individuals a collective voice by pooling resources to support shared priorities. Cattle Raisers PAC is funded by TSCRA members and supports candidates and ballot measures that champion cattle producers, private property rights, and responsible natural resource management.

Individual contributions to Cattle Raisers PAC go directly to the campaigns of candidates who are supportive of issues that are important to TSCRA members. Cattle Raisers PAC follows established procedures, set by the Cattle Raisers PAC Board of Directors, to make contributions to candidates for state and federal offices. Some of the criteria used are candidates’ records of support, bill sponsorships, and key votes.

Cattle Raisers PAC operates on a nonpartisan basis, providing support to candidates from either political party who consistently advocate for the interests of cattle producers and landowners in alignment with TSCRA. A candidate’s stance on issues outside the scope of the cattle and landowner industry is not considered.

Cattle Raisers PAC contributions follow a fiscal calendar year, January 1 – December 31. All contributions are valid only through the end of the calendar year in which they are made, regardless of when the contribution occurs during the year. Contributions to Cattle Raisers PAC are not tax-deductible for federal income purposes, as stated in accordance with Internal Revenue Service regulations.

All contributions must be made with personal funds or funds from a sole proprietorship, partnership, LP, or an LLC. All contributors must be members of Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. Corporate donations are prohibited.
