Serve on a TSCRA Policy Committee

Interested in becoming more involved in TSCRA or the beef industry? All TSCRA members are invited to apply to serve on an association policy committee and help steer the association to a bright future!

The policy committees identify, study, and prioritize issues and opportunities which affect members and the cattle industry. They also include the development of policy positions that guide legislative, regulatory, research, education and other actions and activities of the association.

TSCRA policy committees are appointed each year by the association’s president in accordance with the TSCRA Bylaws and Policy and Procedures. TSCRA directors are eligible to serve on a maximum of 2 policy committees and non-directors are eligible to serve on 1 policy committee. Policy committees for 2019 will be appointed by June 7, 2019, and will meet at the TSCRA Summer Meeting in Galveston on June 14.

The available policy committees are:

  • Agricultural Research and Education
  • Cattle Health and Well-Being
  • Law Enforcement
  • Marketing and Transportation
  • Natural Resources and Wildlife
  • Property Rights and Tax

For more information on what the committees do, what committee member responsibilities are, and how you can apply to serve, email [email protected] or call the TSCRA office at 817-332-7064.
