TSCRA’s Policy Conference came to a close Friday at the Westin Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio with a morning board meeting. Attendees heard about TSCRA activities and business from association leaders and officers. Committees also adopted new policies.
Kendall Frazier, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association CEO, and Richard Wortham, Texas Beef Council executive vice president, talked about lawsuits threatening state beef councils. Larry Gray, executive director, law enforcement and theft prevention services, also gave an update on the affects of Hurricane Harvey and association efforts to help. A couple of ranchers in the affected areas gave accounts of the damage and losses and told stories of the overwhelming support and help offered from all over the country.
The next association meeting will be the Cattle Raisers Convention in Fort Worth March 23 to 25, 2018.
