Janey Briscoe Marmion

Janey Briscoe Marmion, Uvalde, died Nov. 6, 2018, at the age of 68. She was born on August 1, 1950, to Janey (Slaughter) and Dolph Briscoe Jr., twice Texas governor and president of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) from 1960-1962. She is survived by a brother, TSCRA Director Dolph (Chip) Briscoe III and wife, Jill, of Carrizo Springs; sister, Cele Briscoe Carpenter and husband, TSCRA Director John W. Carpenter III, of Dallas; nephews, Dolph (D.B.) Briscoe IV  and wife, Margaret, of San Antonio; James Leigh Briscoe and wife, Erin, of Carrizo Springs; Benjamin M. Carpenter II and wife, Mackenzie, of Dallas; and Austin W. Carpenter and wife, Lauren, of Dallas; and niece, Bonner B. Carpenter Acker and husband, Clayton, of Dallas.

Marmion was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Janey Katherine “Kate” Marmion. Memorial donations may be made to Kate Marmion Rides to Radiation, Attn: Sheri Rutledge, PO Box 900, Uvalde, TX 78802, or the charity of one’s choice.
