Thanks to El Niño, use of the Edwards Aquifer has at last returned to normal. Over the past year, the Edwards — the main water source for 2 million people in San Antonio and the surrounding area — has rebounded from one of the region’s longest droughts, allowing the Edwards Aquifer Authority board on Tuesday to drop mandatory pumping cutbacks.
