Federal disaster declaration granted for additional Texas counties

The federal government granted Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s federal disaster request for Public Assistance on July 8 for Bandera, Bastrop, Brown, Caldwell, Eastland, Fayette, Fort Bend, Grimes, Hood, Houston, Jasper, Kleberg, Polk, San Jacinto and Washington Counties, amending the June 11 disaster declaration following severe flooding across Texas in May.
Additional counties may be added to the governor’s request for assistance once they meet the threshold required by the federal government to request federal disaster aid.
