Cattle Raisers Relief Fund accepting donations and applications for funding until Oct. 31

The Cattle Raisers Relief Fund, a relief effort for beef producers by beef producers, is still collecting monetary donations of support for ranch families affected by Hurricane Harvey. The fund is administered by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, which also runs the Cattle Raisers Museum in Fort Worth.
Applications for funding is now open to all impacted producers in the federally-declared disaster counties and regardless of membership status in TSCRA. Persons applying for funding must have a Texas Ag/Timber Tax Exempt Number. The application will require information and documentation for losses and/or disaster related expenses to aid in equitably distributing funds, such as photographs, copies of receipts for veterinary care, invoices or estimates for fence repair. A committee comprised of local producers, TSCRF and TSCRA leadership will review the applications and determine a method to equitably distribute the funds.
Applications must be returned to TSCRA by Oct. 31, 2017. More information, including donation information, forms and how to apply for funding, is available at tscra.org/relieffund or by calling 800-242-7820.
