The Texas AgriLife Extension is hosting a Williamson County Beef Cattle Symposium on Friday, Sept. 23 at the Schwertner Community Center from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Topics of discussion will include cattle theft prevention from TSCRA Special Ranger Kenny Murchison; calving ease and neonatal care from Dr. Thomas Hairgrove, TAMU livestock and food animal system coordinator; a long-range weather forecast from KKTV Chief Meteorologist Brian Bledsoe; herd management and vaccination protocols from Dr. Gary Warner, Elgin Veterinary Hospital; and an update on the cattle market from Dr. David Anderson, AgriLife Extension Service livestock economist.
