USDA NASS Texas crop progress & condition weekly summary for July 9-15, 2018

Warm weather was experienced in most areas of the state during the past week. Only trace amounts of precipitation were recorded in South Texas and the Lower Valley, while other areas of the state received from trace amounts to upwards of 2 inches. There were 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork. 

Livestock conditions were mostly fair to good across the state. Upper coast rice was in the headed stage with 92 percent rated good to fair condition. Supplemental feeding of livestock was reported in the Cross Timbers, the Blacklands and South Texas. Producers were trying to control fly populations in the Northern Low Plains. Low stock water tank levels were reported in the Cross Timbers and the Blacklands. Pasture and range conditions were rated 59 percent fair to poor.
