TSCRA Govt Affairs Roundup: WOTUS, ranch gatherings and more

As first reported last week, a South Caronia District Court issued a decision that allows the 2015 Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule to take effect immediately in 26 states, including Texas and Oklahoma. TSCRA government and public affairs staff are engaged on a variety of levels.

Until the EPA can formally repeal the WOTUS rule, it seems the best option is a nationwide injunction that would prevent enforcement of the rule. Yesterday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a motion asking a Texas district court to expedite their request for to do just that. His release and a copy of the motion are available here.

This week TSCRA leaders and government affairs staff traveled to South Texas to attend several Ranch Gatherings, where they provided attendees with updates on many of current issues being discussed in Washington, D.C. and Austin, Texas. Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page or website for events in your area!

Also this week, TSCRA government and public affairs staff attended a lunch with Texas Senator Robert Nichols of Jacksonville to discuss issues relevant to cattle raisers and agriculture.
