Your BQA tip for May: Color-coded syringes for vaccines

It’s common to give more than one vaccine injection when working cattle, but how do you keep up with which syringe you use for which vaccine?
You can label each syringe with different colored tape or use a colored marker to draw a line or dot on each syringe.
Some multi-dose syringes have different colored balls that go on the end of the plunger.
Are you a certified Beef Quality Assurance producer? If you’re not, the training is free and available online and in person at select meetings across the state. Visit www.texasbeefquality.com for more information.
