TSCRA Crime Watch: 8 head of cattle stolen in Erath County, horse trailer theft in East Texas

TSCRA Special Ranger Wayne Goodman, Dist. 10 in North Texas, reports the theft of 8 cows and a calf from a property near Alexander in Erath County. Some time between Jan. 9 and 19 a thief or thieves cut a lock and chain to steal the 8 black muley, or hornless, Angus/Brangus cows weighing 850 to 1200 pounds, each. These cattle are branded with an IG connected high on the right hip. Also missing is an unbranded 3-week old calf weighing approximately 150 pounds. TSCRA Special Ranger Jimmy Dickson, Dist. 14 in East Texas, reports the theft of a horse trailer from a property near Rusk in Cherokee County. Some time after Jan. 12 a thief or thieves cut a fence to steal the 1995  WW straight-load bumper pull horse trailer, license no. VCSK61, VIN no. 11WEH0924SW212226. Anyone with information regarding this theft is urged to call Special Ranger Dickson at 903-586-8733.
Anonymous tipsters may also call the Operation Cow Thief hotline at 888-830-2333. A cash reward is offered for information leading to an arrest and/or grand jury indictment. Anonymity is guaranteed.
