Colorado State University agriculture economist Stephen Koontz said this week time may be running out for higher cattle prices as good news is hard to find. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Choice-Select spread posted a bit of a rally recently, going from a seasonal low of about $4/cwt. to a little short of $9/cwt. “This change was as anticipated, very comparable to last year and about a month early.
