The Comptroller's office requests comments on revisions to Manual for the Appraisal of Agricultural Land

The Texas Comptroller’s Manual for the Appraisal of Agricultural Land is in the process of being revised to include statutory changes and changes required by case law since its last publication in 1990.

This version of the proposed revisions is posted for comments through Sept. 20, 2016. Please send any comments you may have regarding the proposed manual to us by email at [email protected].
All comments received by Sept. 20, 2016, will be reviewed, addressed and included in the next proposed version as appropriate.
Note: This informal comment period is not part of the rule-making process. The proposed rule and accompanying publication will be posted in the Texas Register with a formal 30-day comment period.
Tax Code Section 23.52(d) requires the comptroller’s office to adopt the final version of the manual by rule with the approval of the majority of approval by a committee composed of the governor, comptroller, attorney general, agriculture commissioner and commissioner of the General Land Office.
