The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has discovered a data processing issue that caused multiple data errors in the March 19, 2015, Livestock Slaughter report. The March report, which contained February slaughter data, has been removed from the Internet and the parallel data removed from the Quick Stats database. The Feb. 19, 2015, report and data reflecting January information remain available on line. NASS will announce the re-release of the March Livestock Slaughter report as soon as it is available. The Livestock Slaughter report contains monthly data on cattle, calves, sheep, lambs, hogs and pigs slaughtered in commercial and federally-inspected plants by state in addition to red meat production by species at the U.S. and state levels.
