Cattle Raisers PAC endorses former Sen. Kelly Hancock for Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts

AUSTIN, Texas (July 10, 2025) — Cattle Raisers PAC, the political action committee of Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, is proud to endorse former Texas State Sen. Kelly Hancock, currently serving as acting Comptroller, for the permanent position of Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.

“Comptroller Hancock has a proven record representing the values important to cattle raisers and landowners during his time in the Texas Senate and Texas House,” said Cattle Raisers PAC Co-chair and Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association President Carl Ray Polk Jr. “For 20 years, he has represented his districts with an integrity that speaks not only to his legislative history but his character, and we believe our members and all of Texas agriculture will be well represented.”

Hancock currently serves Texas Senate District 9 and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives. His decision to run for Comptroller of Texas Public Accounts follows his appointment of acting Comptroller earlier this year.

During his time in the Texas Legislature, Hancock led legislative efforts on important issues such as private property rights. He has also sponsored bills to protect Texans from preventable wildfires by requiring companies to properly maintain their equipment. In addition, he has consistently prioritized legislative efforts to preserve the state’s status as the nation’s leader in beef production.

During the 89th Legislative Session, Hancock served as chair of the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs, vice chair of the Senate Committee on Water, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and he is a member of the Senate Committees on Health and Human Services and Natural Resources.
