High-angle view: Counting cattle by drone more than just cool

Record-breaking rains flooded southeast Texas in the summer of 2016, drowning crops, covering roads and turning pastures into vast lakes. Cattle moved to high ground on a ranch near Lissie, where the rancher was concerned but couldn’t reach the area. This is where a farmer friend with a drone came in handy; they were able to launch the UAV and fly over the cattle to get a better view and get an accurate head count. Read more…
