Fort Worth, Texas – Dennis Hale was announced as the Outstanding Beef County Extension Agent at the annual Texas County Agricultural Agent Association (TCAAA) meeting in South Padre Island. The award is sponsored by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA).
Hale has more than 15 years of experience working as a Texas AgriLife Extension Service agent in Karnes and Wilson counties and has provided leadership for beef cattle programs in both counties for more than 12 years.
“Mr. Hale is highly respected throughout the state by cattle producers,” TSCRA President Dave Scott said. “While county agents have knowledge of the entire agriculture industry, Mr. Hale has specific expertise in the beef cattle industry. It is because of leaders like Dennis Hale that the Texas beef industry is the strongest in the United States.”
Marvin Ensor, regional program director for agriculture and natural resources, AgriLife Extension, says Hale has provided strong leadership to the education programming efforts in beef cattle production.
“His efforts have significantly impacted the producers in Karnes and Wilson counties,” Ensor said.
Hale will also be recognized during the 2011 TSCRA Convention in San Antonio. The convention is scheduled to take place April 1 through 3.
The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is a 133-year-old trade organization. As the largest and oldest livestock association in Texas,  TSCRA represents more than 15,000 beef cattle producers, ranching families and businesses who manage approximately 4 million head of cattle on 51.5 million acres of range and pasture land, primarily in Texas and Oklahoma. TSCRA provides law enforcement and livestock inspection services, legislative and regulatory advocacy, industry news and information, insurance services and educational opportunities for its members and the industry.
