When it comes to using injected medications in your cattle herd health program, follow the product label recommendations for injection sites. Using more than the recommended amount can reduce how well the product works and can increase withdrawal times. If the label doesn’t specify an amount, then a good guideline is to use a maximum of 10 mL per injection site. For example, if the dose was 60 mL, then that amount should be divided into 6 locations, spaced at least 3 to 4 inches apart.
