A Bonham, Texas man was arrested Wednesday at his residence on charges of third degree felony theft of livestock in the case of worthless checks written to purchase cattle. TSCRA Special Ranger Toney Hurley led the investigation.
According to Hurley, the suspect, Timothy Randall Mayo, 45, of Bonham, Texas is alleged to have written a worthless check to the Sulphur Springs Livestock and Dairy Auction for cattle purchased in February.
After Mayo was arrested on Wednesday at his residence in Bonham, Hurley took him to the Bonham Police Department, where a magistrates hearing was held by Fannin County Justice of the Peace Royce W. Smithey.
Mayo was transferred to the Hopkins County Jail where he is being held on a $40,000 bond for third degree felony theft of livestock. Additional charges are expected to be filed in this case.
TSCRA appreciates the Bonham Police Department and Hopkins County Jail for their assistance in this investigation.
