FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) Past President Bob McCan of Victoria has been elected to serve as the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) vice president. McCan was elected to the new post at the annual meeting of the NCBA in Nashville, Tenn.
“Bob McCan is a leader in the Texas cattle industry and will represent cattle raisers at the national level very well,” said Joe Parker Jr., TSCRA president. “Bob’s knowledge of the cattle industry both in the U.S. and internationally will be a huge advantage as U.S. cattle raisers look to open more foreign markets for U.S. beef and battle over reaching government regulations.”

McCan became a TSCRA director in 1990 and served as TSCRA president from 2003-2005. He oversees cattle operations in Victoria, Refugio, and Bee Counties, Texas, as ranch manager for his family’s McFaddin Enterprises. McCan received his Bachelor of Science degree in range science from Texas A&M University in 1980. He is the son of former TSCRA Director Claude K. McCan, Jr. and grandson of Claude K. McCan, who served as TSCRA president from 1942-1944. McCan is married to the former Julie Ann Hartman and they have two children, Robert August and Mary Isabel.
