USDA bumps total meat, poultry production

In the April “World Agricultural Supply & Demand Estimates” report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) raised the 2016 forecast of total red meat and poultry production from last month as expectations for increased cattle slaughter and heavier carcass weights more than offset a lower pork production forecast.
