TSCRA opens applications for the spring 2027 Gilly Riojas Memorial Internship Program

(September 1, 2026) – Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is accepting applications for its spring 2027 Gilly Riojas Memorial Internship Program.

The competitive, paid internships run from mid-January through early May and offer students an opportunity to build professional skills, expand their industry networks and work alongside association staff, agricultural leaders and participating member businesses and ranches.

Spring 2027 opportunities include:

  • Fort Worth Internship – Full-time internship opportunities based at the association’s headquarters in Fort Worth. Selected interns will gain experience across departments, including communications, education, events and membership, while supporting daily operations and representing TSCRA at industry events. The internship runs from January to May.
  • Government Relations Internship – A full-time internship in Austin that provides experience advocating for TSCRA members at the Texas Capitol. Interns will help monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory issues, coordinate events and support the association’s government relations efforts during the 90th Legislative Session of Texas. The internship runs from January to May.
  • Government Relations Law Internship – A full-time Austin internship for current law students or recent law school graduates. Interns will work with the government relations team at the Texas Capitol and gain experience reviewing and writing legislation, monitoring policy issues and interacting with elected officials, staff, lobbyists and agricultural leaders during the 90th Legislative Session of Texas. The internship runs from January to May.
  • Internship Placement Program – Applicants may also be considered for opportunities with participating TSCRA member ranches and businesses in areas such as ranch management, finance, nutrition, animal science, meat science, sales and equipment. Timing, hours and compensation vary by placement.

Applications for the spring 2027 Gilly Riojas Memorial Internship Program are due Oct. 1 and are available online at tscra.org/leadership-development-foundation .
