State Sen. Glenn Hegar to Speak at Cattle Raisers Summer Meeting

Fort Worth, Texas – State Sen. Glenn Hegar, Katy, has been added to the lineup of speakers that will address cattle producers from Texas and Oklahoma at the 2013 Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) summer meeting.
The meeting will be at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa located at 9800 Hyatt Resort Drive in San Antonio.
Hegar will speak during the noon luncheon, sponsored by the Association Promotion Committee.
House Speaker Joe Straus and State Rep. Dan Branch will also address the group Wednesday, June 12. Straus and Branch will brief cattle raisers on actions taken during the 83rd Texas Legislative Session.
General briefing sessions are Tuesday, June 11. These sessions will cover a variety of topics including the changing infrastructure of the beef industry due to drought, the implementation of the state’s water plan, and an update on endangered species in Texas and how landowners can protect themselves. TSCRA is a 136 year-old trade association and is the largest and oldest livestock organization based in Texas. TSCRA has more than 16,000 beef cattle operations, ranching families and businesses as members. These members represent approximately 50,000 individuals directly involved in ranching and beef production who manage 4 million head of cattle on 76 million acres of range and pasture land primarily in Texas and Oklahoma, but throughout the Southwest.
