Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and House Agriculture Committee Chairman Michael Conaway are in South Texas this week surveying damage from Hurricane Harvey and meeting with ag producers. Two staffers for U.S. House Agriculture Committee Chairman Michael Conaway and one from the USDA were sent to a hospital near El Campo on Thursday after a major car wreck outside El Campo. All involved have been released from the hospital, and Conaway’s trip continued Friday with visits with local producers and discussions about the farm bill.
