Sec. Sonny Perdue in Texas to visit with ag producers hit by Harvey

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and House Agriculture Committee Chairman Michael Conaway are in South Texas this week surveying damage from Hurricane Harvey and meeting with ag producers. Two staffers for U.S. House Agriculture Committee Chairman Michael Conaway and one from the USDA were sent to a hospital near El Campo on Thursday after a major car wreck outside El Campo. All involved have been released from the hospital, and Conaway’s trip continued Friday with visits with local producers and discussions about the farm bill.
Secretary Perdue is tweeting updates from his trip at twitter.com/SecretarySonny,
You can also follow the trip through the House Ag committee’s twitter at twitter.com/HouseAgNews.
