Ranchers gather for events in Oklahoma and Texas

More than 150 association members, friends and guests joined us in Holdenville, Okla,. and Palestine, Texas, last week for ranch gatherings. In Holdenville, attendees heard from TSCRA Special Ranger Kent Dowell about local thefts in the area. OCA Southeastern Vice President Mike Weeks gave an update on state issues in Oklahoma, and TSCRA Executive Vice President Eldon White updated everyone on federal issues.

In Palestine, attendees were treated to a presentation by Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Todd Staples. Richard Wortham, executive vice president of the Texas Beef Council, gave info on the Texas beef checkoff. TSCRA Special Ranger Jimmy Dickson updated everyone on local law enforcement activities and Kaleb McLaurin, TSCRA director of legislative affairs, rounded out the meeting with an update on legislative issues on the state and federal level.

Thanks to our sponsors: Novartis Animal Health, Heritage Land Bank, Crystalyx Brand Supplements and Texas Farm Credit.

Be sure to check our events calendar to see if we have a gathering planned in your area.
