Environmental Stewardship Award Program

The Environmental Stewardship Award Program was established in 1991 by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association to provide an opportunity for the beef industry to showcase the stewardship, conservation and business practices that work together on farms and ranches.

Texas Environmental Stewardship Award Program

The Texas Environmental Stewardship Award Program (TxESAP) was established in partnership between Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) and Texas Grazing Lands Coalition (TGLC).

The in-state award seeks to honor stewards of the land caring for the natural resources entrusted to them. Any group, entity or individual may apply.

2026 Texas Environmental Stewardship Award Program will be open May 15 – July 1, 2025.

2026 Application
General Information:

Applications for the 2026 Texas Environmental Stewardship Award Program are due July 1, 2025.

Who Can Apply: Any group, entity or individual can apply. An individual can nominate their neighbor. An individual could nominate themselves. No nomination will be limited.

2026 Texas ESAP Timeline:

2025

  • May 15 | Texas ESAP Nominations open
  • July 1 | Texas ESAP Nominations close
  • August – October | Texas ESAP winner is chosen by ESAP Committee and contacted.
  • October 2025 – January 2026 | TSCRA staff & winner develop application for Region IV.

2026

  • March 2026 | National application submitted to NCBA.
  • March 2026 | Texas ESAP winner announced at Cattle Raisers Convention & Expo.
  • Summer 2026 | Region IV ESAP winner announced to state affiliates.

2027

  • February 2027 | Region IV & National winner announced at NCBA Cattle Con in Nashville, TN.
