Crime watch: Cow-calf pair missing in Wharton County

Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Special Ranger Nathan Hale, District 24 in Southeast Texas, reports a black cow and black calf missing from a property near FM 960 in Wharton County. The cattle are reported to have travelled down Wharton County Road 461 near the Glen Flora area after escaping through an open gate. The cow is seven to nine years of age, around 900 pounds, is not marked or branded, but may have a white or yellow ear tag in the left ear. The calf is 450 pounds and has a number 23 ear tag in its left ear. They were last seen on or around June 4.
