FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Cattle have been reported stolen in Texas near the Johnson and Ellis County line. Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raiser Association (TSCRA) Special Ranger H.D. Brittain was contacted Friday, Feb. 17, about the missing cattle. 8 mostly black cows branded with a turkey track on their left hip and 9 unbranded calves weighing approximately 500 lbs. were stolen sometime between Feb. 15 and Feb. 17 around noon.
According to Brittain this is the third theft of this type that has happened in the same general area since Jan. 1, 2012.
There is a $2,500 reward offered for one of the thefts and TSCRA’s Operation Cow Thief will add a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and/or Grand Jury indictment of parties responsible.
