Beef Board nominations sought

The USDA has announced that the 2018 nominations for the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board (CBB) are due July 21, 2017. As a Certified Producer Organization (CPO), TSCRA qualifies to make nominations for vacant CBB positions representing Texas. USDA Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue appoints the board members from among the nominees for a 3-year term.
It is USDA’s policy that membership on USDA boards are open to all individuals without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, marital or family status, political beliefs, parental status, or protected genetic information. Further, USDA seeks appointments that reflect diversity of individuals served by the national beef checkoff program. Anyone interested in being considered for nomination to the CBB board should contact Eldon White in the TSCRA office at 817-332-7064 or email to [email protected] by July 14, 2017. Read more…
