U.S. Rep. Jodey Arrington, R-Dist. 19, announced Wednesday that he has been appointed to the House Agriculture Committee. Arrington had been gunning for this committee ahead of taking office, and now along with Tuesday’s announcement that he’ll sit on the House Budget Committee, he said he believes West Texas will have seats at the right tables in D.C. Arrington will serve with Chairman Mike Conaway, R-Midland, who said he’s excited to welcome his friend and neighbor to the committee. “I don’t have to tell anyone in Texas how important agriculture is to our economy, and how critical it is to our national security,” Arrington said Wednesday.
