What’s left of Harvey continues to drop unprecedented amounts of rain on South Texas, with forecasts predicting movement East toward Louisiana. This is a serious situation that could last well into the week. Please monitor your local weather information and heed official warnings, including orders of evacuation. Some reservoirs are releasing water that may exacerbate flooding in downstream areas, so flood waters may rise initially, even if it is not raining in your area. Landowners along rivers or in low-lying areas are encouraged to move livestock and rolling stock such as tractors and other heavy machinery to higher ground. TSCRA is working with the state agencies to coordinate relief and support efforts for ranchers. Let us know where you are, what you need, and any other information we can use to help direct relief efforts by emailing [email protected] or replying to this email.
