TSCRA Special Ranger Larry Hand, Dist. 13 in East Texas, reports the theft of 2 head of cattle from a property south of Longview Airport in Rusk County. Some time after the evening on Aug. 20 and before the morning on Aug. 21, someone cut a locked chain and allowed cattle from a pasture to scatter. When the cattle were collected, a black Angus-cross yearling bull and red crossbred yearling heifer were missing. These unbranded missing calves weighed between 600 to 650 pounds, each. The branded adult cows were left behind. Anyone with information related to this or any other cattle theft activity in the area are urged to call Special Ranger Hand at 903-592-5252 or the Operation Cow Thief hotline at 888-830-2333. A cash reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and/or grand jury indictment of thieves, and anonymity is guaranteed.
