The 85th Legislative Session will get underway at the State Capitol on Jan. 10, and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) will focus on a variety of issues impacting the agriculture industry. Among the agency’s main priorities are continuing to expand international and domestic trade programs to help promote Texas agricultural products; ensuring the integrity of the state metrology lab through remedial construction; replacing outdated information technology systems; creating a centralized accounting and payroll/personnel system; and addressing agency budgetary concerns. The dedicated folks at TDA are working on these issues with one goal in mind — improving their valuable services for the taxpayers of Texas and the agriculture industry as a whole.
