A large delegation of almost 30 TSCRA members participated in the Cattle Industry Summer Conference hosted by National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), Cattlemen’s Beef Board (CBB), American National Cattle Women (ANCW) and the NCBA Foundation.
The summer conference serves as the business meeting of the organizations to develop respective policy and to plan work. Of particular note, a proposal to restructure the joint committees of the CBB and the NCBA Federation of State Beef Councils was considered and approved by the CBB and NCBA. The new committee structure will align the work of the committees with the Cattle Industry Long-Range Plan.
Retiring and new NCBA policy were also considered and approved. TSCRA’s delegation was led by TSCRA President Joe Parker, Byers, First Vice President Clay Birdwell, Hereford, and Second Vice President Pete Bonds, Saginaw.
The Cattle Industry Annual Convention and NCBA Trade Show will be held Feb. 6 to 9, 2013, in Tampa, Fla.
