The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) Wednesday, June 13 applauded the decision from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to not list the dunes sagebrush lizard as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. The announcement comes after stakeholders, including ranchers and landowners, spent more than a year developing and implementing voluntary conservation agreements that protect the species without federal government intervention. more…
The lesser prairie-chicken is now a candidate species under the endangered species act. According to wildlife experts, if populations of the species continue to decline, the next step would be a proposal for listing and then eventually a full listing as either threatened or endangered causing landowners and/or operators to face land use restrictions. more…

TSCRA Special Ranger Doug Hutchison, Dist. 20, has reported the theft of a Kawasaki Mule™ utility vehicle and various tools from a property near Red Rock in Bastrop County. On June 10, sometime between midnight and 3:00 a.m., a thief or thieves entered a garage to steal a red 1988 Kawasaki Mule™ and assorted hand tools, socket sets and chains.
