Greenpeace targets JBS

As far as we know, meatpacker JBS hasn’t processed any whale meat lately, but the environmental group Greenpeace is attacking them over destruction of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. According to Greenpeace, the Brazil-based packing company continues to slaughter cattle from operations that illegally clear rainforest for beef production, in spite of an earlier pledge not to do so. USDA authorizes emergency grazing of CRP acres for 12 counties

USDA Texas Farm Service Agency (FSA) Acting Executive Director James B. Douglass announced June 6 that 12 counties are authorized for emergency grazing use of Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acres for fiscal year (FY) 2012. Based on a decision made by the Texas FSA state committee, CRP emergency grazing approval will only be available for those CRP lands that were not utilized for haying or grazing during the previous 12 months.
