Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) member Jay Evans, Austin, testified before the Texas House Natural Resources Committee at the Texas State Capitol on Thursday. Evans, who serves as vice chairman of TSCRA’s Natural Resources and Environment Committee, informed state legislators of the impacts the drought has had on the cattle industry. The committee held Thursday’s hearing to gather testimony regarding the strain the historic drought has put on Texas and will issue a report on its findings to Texas House Speaker Joe Straus later this year.
