What are the event dates?
The 2013 Cattle Raisers Convention is March 21 to March 24.
Where is the event taking place?
The 2013 Cattle Raisers Convention will be in Fort Worth. All meetings will be at the Fort Worth Convention Center, unless otherwise noted.
Registration
How much does it cost to attend the event?
Early registration fees range from $240 to $310 depending upon the events you will attend. Complete details on registration prices and options are here.
Which registration package is the best deal?
Choose "Full Registration" for the best deal. And you'll save even more if you register before March 8.
What does my registration include?
Most registration options include admission to meeting sessions, meals, snacks, and admission to the Cattle Raisers Expo. For specific information on what each registration option includes, please click here.
Are there any discounts available?
Yes, several discounts are available:
- Register on or before March 8 and save per person.
- Choose "Full Registration" and save compared to individual event ticket prices.
- TSCRA members save $ per person when registering for the full convention and the School for Successful Ranching.
- Non-members who join TSCRA at the Cattle Raisers Convention may apply $50 of the registration fee to their new membership dues.
We've tried to set the conference fee at a reasonable level so the 2013 Cattle Raisers Convention is accessible to individuals.
How can I obtain a receipt for my registration?
If you register online with a credit card, a receipt will be emailed to you. If you register via fax or mail and would like a receipt, please request your receipt by calling 800-242-7820 or email registration@tscra.org.
All registrants will receive a confirmation letter with details of their purchase. These letters are sent approximately 2 weeks prior to convention.
I have registered and can no longer attend the event. Is it possible to cancel my registration and obtain a refund?
Yes. You may request a refund by calling 800-242-7820 or email registration@tscra.org. All payments are non-refundable after March 8, 2013.
Can I send a colleague or friend in my place?
Yes, we do allow for substitution requests between same registration types. If you are unable to attend this year's event, you will need to request substitution by calling 800-242-7820 or emailing registration@tscra.org. Please include your full name, confirmation number, replacement's name and replacement's email address. Once we receive this information we will send an updated copy of the registration to you and your substitute.
Is there a 1-day pass?
Yes, we do offer 1-day registration options.For more information, click here.
Is there a student discount?
We do not offer discounted rates for academia (students, professors, faculty/staff). However, we do provide academia with free day passes to attend the Cattle Raisers Expo.
What are the hours for on-site registration and check-in?
Register on-site, or pick up your conference materials if you pre-registered.
When will I receive my name badge?
All badges and conference materials will be made available on-site at registration check-in.
Can I get into the event without my name badge?
Attendees will not be permitted to enter conference areas without a name badge. We will not be able to reprint lost badges so please make sure to keep your badge with you at all times.
What time does the event start and end each day?
The hours of the event vary by day. For a more specific agenda, please visit the schedule page. Please note that the schedule is subject to change.
How is session scheduling being handled? Do I need to register to attend specific sessions?
Sessions are open and no pre-scheduling is necessary. They are on a first-come, first-served basis at the event.
Are attendees able to bring guests?
Attendees are not permitted to bring guests to Convention Weekend. If you have someone traveling with you, they will need to register themselves and purchase the appropriate registration.
Is there a minimum age to attend Cattle Raisers Convention? Can I bring children to the event?
There is no minimum age to attend. We encourage families to attend the event. We do offer children's activities throughout the event.
Will I receive additional information regarding the event?
We'll be regularly updating www.tscra.org/convention with the latest sessions, speakers, and other content. We recommend checking back from time to time for the most updated information. In addition, we'll mail all registered attendees with the latest information 2 weeks before the Cattle Raisers Convention.
I’m not a TSCRA member. Can I attend?
Certainly! Non-members who join TSCRA at the Cattle Raisers Convention may apply $50 of the registration fee to their new membership dues. Please visit the registration desk to complete your new member application form.
School for Successful Ranching
What is included with my School for Successful Ranching registration?
- Half-day of live demonstrations
- Classroom instruction
- Admission to the Trade Show
- Admission to the Cattle Raisers Convention Opening General Session
- Proceedings book, electronic or hard copy
- Lunch on Friday and Saturday
Do I have to pre-register for certain sessions at the School?
No. You can attend any sessions you choose.
Are the sessions repeated?
Yes. The afternoon sessions are an exact repeat of the morning sessions.
Are session materials available?
Yes. A print or electronic version of the School for Successful Ranching proceedings will be available. If you elect to download the electronic proceedings book, instead of requesting a paper copy, you may deduct $10 from your School registration fee.
If I can't attend a session will the materials be available?
Yes. All materials will be available in the proceedings.

I’m a TSCRA member. What does it cost to attend the Cattle Raisers Expo?
For TSCRA members, Expo admission is free with your TSCRA member card.
Is the Cattle Raisers Expo open to the public?
Yes, tickets are $10.
How much is admission to the Cattle Raisers Expo?
Free for TSCRA members who present their membership card. $10 for non-members.
Law Enforcement Silent Auction
What is the Silent Auction in the Cattle Raisers Expo?
The Law Enforcement Silent Auction is a fun and exciting event held during the Cattle Raisers Expo hours. This event is fun for all ages!
All proceeds from the Silent Aucion go to the TSCRA Law Enforcement Division to assist with training and equipment needs.
What items are available to bid on?
Some of the items you will see will be bird and deer hunts, jewelry, firearms, knives, spurs, art work, mineral,books, too many to name them all.
Can I bid on items if I am not at the event?
Yes, we do take bids by phone. To pre-arrange your bid, please contact TSCRA Law Enforcement at 800-242-7820.
Social Events
Can I purchase tickets to the Cattle Raisers Dance at the door?
No. We have sold out of tickets to this event the past 2 years. Please be sure to save your spot at this fun event!
Will there be transportation to and from the social events?
Can I reserve a table or seats at the Cattle Raisers Dance?
No, we will not offer reserve seating. Please be sure to order your tickets early so we can arrange for enough room for you and your guests.
Travel and Hotels
What is the nearest airport recommended for attendees to fly into?
DFW, the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, is closest to the Fort Worth Convention Center and surrounding hotels. DAL, Dallas Love Field, is also a short distance from the Fort Worth Convention Center.
How long does it take to get to/from the airport, and how much does it cost?
Travel time to/from DFW and Love Field typically takes about 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. A cab will run about $45.
Will there be shuttle service to and from the airport and the hotels or convention center?
No, TSCRA will not be providing shuttle service to and from the airport or hotels.

Are hotel accommodations included in the registration fee?
Hotel accommodations are not included in the registration fee. However, we have discounted rates contracted with several hotels near the Fort Worth Convention Center. Please visit the Hotels page for more details.
How do I book my hotel reservation?
Please contact the hotel of your choice directly and don't forget to reference Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association to receive the best available rate. Please visit the Hotels page for more details.
Safety and First Aid
Will there be first-aid at the Cattle Raisers Convention and Expo?
Yes, the wellness and safety of our members and friends are of great concern to us. An EMT will be available on-site during the event.

Definitely. Fort Worth Convention Center is fully ADA certified.
Childcare
Will childcare be available?
Childcare options are available during the Cattle Raisers Dance. Options include in-room childcare and a separate activity room for the children of TSCRA event attendees. If you are interested in childcare during the Cattle Raisers Dance, please call 800-242-7820.
General Event Information
Who can attend the Cattle Raisers Convention, School for Successful Ranching, and expo?
The event is open to all individuals interested in ranching, livestock production, and general agriculture. You do not need to be a TSCRA member to attend any of the events.
What is the attire for the event?
The entire event is business casual.
How many people are anticipated to be in attendance?
Approximately 2,300 people to attend the Cattle Raisers Convention, annually.
Will the sessions or any part of the Cattle Raisers Convention be streamed live via the Internet?
No, we will not stream any portion of the event via the Internet.
Are recordings of individual sessions available?
Yes, we will be recording most sessions and making them available online. Please check back after the convention to listen to the recorded sessions.
